in the cloud

Sometimes in the cloud(Koh Samet, March 2008)

Sometimes the sky is dark and gray
But some things can only be known
And sometimes our faith can only grow
When we can’t see

-Steven Curtis Chapman, “Sometimes He comes in the cloud”

five years!

tramonto(Tokyo, Feb 2007)

The war in Iraq has entered its fifth year: Unity urged on Iraq war anniversary

I don’t think the war really ended. Is this war right, as Bush said? Is there any right war? Will the people in Iraq ever see that all the pain they have been going through was worth?

I doubt it. Behind ALL the wars, there’s someone making money. The civilians just die, taken advantage of.

It is Good Friday today, in memory of a guy who died for something. His resurrection is a sign of hope for all. This does not mean, “Fine, people die, they will be risen and it’s ok”. This means, people on the earth have to bring the peace and justice right here, as the guy has tried to.

the mystery

the entrance(Kagoshima, Jan 2006)

“I felt that those who understood the Cross of Christ should take it upon themselves on everybody’s behalf.” -Edith Stein

It is Holy Week, the week of the biggest mystery of all for many. These Christians say that one guy who was sent to the death row saves all… Aren’t they mad?

Today also is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Read the rest of this entry »

the second worst

Police of the second most corrupted country in AsiaPolice of the second most corrupted country in Asia (Bangkok, Mar 2008 )

Yes, Thailand is the second most corrupted country in Asia:

Survey: Philippines, Thailand Most Corrupt Economies In Asia

Whenever I see Thai people joining their palms together in front of Buddha statues or Thai royal family’s pix, I always wonder…

I guess royalty or faith has no single thing to do with their practice.

Or maybe it has, practice of giving money and stuff to monks and the royal family etc: it’s not about being or living, but having enough to give away. I wonder what the government officials in Thailand mean by “development”.

lucky me

my Grandma’s handsmy Grandma’s hands (Sept 2007)

This morning I opened my e-mail box and I find an e-mail from my mum. Title: “Grandma worried”.

It said that Grandma is worried because the last time I called her, the call ended suddenly.

Really? I remember saying “Bye”s.

China : US = Obama : Hilary?

This sky leads where? This sky leads where? (Narita, Aug 2007)

China hits back at US on rights, says Iraq war a disaster

BEIJING (AFP) — China on Thursday accused the United States of human rights hypocrisy, as it branded the US invasion of Iraq the “greatest humanitarian disaster” of the modern world.

Haha! It is true. Every time the US speaks of dis-nuking, I want to ask, “What about dis-nuking your country then?”

But this case, China and US attacking each other for human rights stuff, looks just absurd. It’s like seeing Obama and Clinton attacking each other…

demi-democracy

Yellow for the kingYellow for the king (Bangkok, Oct 2007) This reminds me of all the things during WW2, when people were forced to be nationalistic.

I was pretty happy to see the commentary “A king’s lessons in democracy” on International Herald Tribune today. I hope this will be read by many people living in Thailand, especially the Thai. Read the rest of this entry »

a comedy but…

18381066_w434_h_q80.jpg“Bienvenue en Suisse”

I would give 1.5 stars… Not really worth seeing.

Thierry goes back to Switzerland with his girlfriend Sophie for his grandmother’s funeral. He can get a big legacy if he can prove to be a good Swiss (or something like that). But then his cousin Aloïs gets in the story, and he falls in love with Sophie.

It’s a comedy, pretty funny. But my question is, “So what?” No message, just a comedy for the sake of being comedy, nothing.

Lately I…

Lately I…Lately I… (Bangkok, 23 Feb 2008) Excuisite!! At คาเคา คาเฟ่

Lately I really like HOT CHOCOLATE!!!

It’s kind of medicine, especially when I need to chill out (When I feel hot I take coconut juice. This is one of the most refreshing things I know in the world).

Actually this is not new… When I was small, I was already in love with it.
